A series of gifs exploring my own embodiment and affective experiences.
Again and Again is an ongoing series of 2-5 second looping animated gifs that I have been making since 2019. In this series, I am reflecting on my embodied experience, that of having and experiencing the world through and as a body. This touches on issues of gender, sexuality, chronic illness, whiteness, alienation, and permeability. By using a 3D animated representation of my body and pushing it beyond the limits of human movement, I remove the avatar of myself from the realm of digitally normative perfection, exposing her material constraints as a 3D modelled object and leaning into the evocative qualities of the implicit body horror therein.
This project is in progress, and the selected gifs here will change over time.
